BLUEPRINT "RESPECT THE ARCHITECT", "KING NO CROWN" & "VIGILANTE GENESIS" VISUAL CAMPAIGN

SoundRzn prides it's self on the ability to provide a full package for clients in need of multiple services to complete their project. The layout before was provided for indie hip-hop artist Blueprint (Rhymesayers/Weightless/Soul Position). The campaign was built for 3 separate albums that were to be built with an overall visual arc connecting them: "Respect the Architect" (2014), "King No Crown" (2015) and "Vigilante Genisis" (2016). In this study, we'll look at the build-up of this multi-album campaign and the planning that went in to the very beginning stages knowing what our end results for the second album would roughly be. The visual layout includes a new logo, Vinyl & CD jacket designs (cover, spine, back, CD/Vinyl sticker), Facebook wall advertisements, tour posters, calendars, website headers, YouTube Channel ads, single covers and download cards.

All pieces are built to exact specification and measurement, and are in line with all necessary formats and image types.


PART I: RESPECT THE ARCHITECT CAMPAIGN (2014)

'BLUEPRINT' LOGO REDESIGN

This logo was built from a pre-existing rough draft, of which I developed and fleshed out to feel cleaner but more representative of it's influence. We also had the challenge of making sure this logo would match with paintings already designated for Blueprint's upcoming albums. This logo had to serve an immediate as well as a long-term purpose.

'RESPECT THE ARCHITECT' ALBUM COVER & BACK

Once we built the logo, we focused in on the album artwork.  We started with a painting. From that painting we color-corrected the image and worked for placement of the logo. Blueprint wanted a vintage, 'classic jazz album' feel to the layout, as shown by the back cover's grainy texture and classic font type choices.

SOCIAL MEDIA ADVERTISING

To precede the release of "Respect the Architect", Blueprint was looking to create simple but effective ads utilizing quotes from his songs and images of himself to create awareness for his upcoming album.

Above are a few examples of posters used for fan purchase as well as touring promotion.

SINGLE COVERS, SUBSCRIPTION PAGES, CALENDARS & MORE

In addition to album layouts, we also developed simple promotional tools such as single song visual covers, a calendar leading to the release date, and subscription pages built to fit on Blueprint's YouTube page.

VIDEO STILL PROMOTIONAL ADS

After the release of the album, we created a set of social media advertisements designed to promote the release of each following video attached to the project.


PART II: KING NO CROWN CAMPAIGN (2015)

KING NO CROWN ALBUM ART

Much like "Respect the Architect" preceding it, this cover was built off a pre-existing painting. Color-Correction was added, and a small logo for the title was built to fit in the right corner. We attempted multiple drafts playing with the idea of using the 'Blueprint' logo, the title or both. The back was again inspired by jazz-era vinyl back covers. We studied different variations to create a clear distinction between each back.

KING NO CROWN POSTERS

Much like "Respect the Architect" we worked together to create a set of posters, both for purchase from fans as well as for touring purposes. The text choice, texture and layout were built to give the feeling of a modernized jazz-era event.

SOCIAL MEDIA ADVERTISING

Like "Respect The Architect" we built a simple social media campaign to highlight quotes from Blueprint's songs as well as images of him in his element.

VINYL STICKERS, SINGLE COVERS & CALENDAR

Again we have miscellaneous items developed for the 'King No Crown' campaign, such as album single visual layouts, a calendar promoting the album release date and vinyl stickers for the vinyl pressing of the album.


PART III: "VIGILANTE GENESIS" CAMPAIGN (2016)

VIGILANTE ALBUM ART

Much like "Respect the Architect" & "King No Crown", preceding it, this cover was built off a pre-existing painting. Color-Correction was added as well as the customization of an existing font. This cover in particular is inspired by graphic novels, as the project it's self follows similar inspiration.

VIGILANTE GENESIS POSTERS

Much like "Respect the Architect" & "King No Crown", we worked together to create a set of posters, both for purchase from fans as well as for touring purposes. The text choice, texture and layout were built to give the feeling of a graphic novels but remain consistent with the overall theme of the three projects.

PROMOTIONAL ITEMS

Including an online calendar for release date, a pricing matrix for merchandise as well as headers for Social Media.

MISC ITEMS

Including FB Quotes, Single Art, CD & Vinyl Templates and more for "Vigilante Genesis"
